Sharon Blanchard began her career at the Louisiana Office of Public Health. This position allowed her to construct an extensive Distance Learning Program for the organization that included the development and delivery of technical and soft skill courses via videoconference.
In the summer of 2005 Sharon moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she joined The Blood Center as the Training and Development Manager. This was a short-lived position when Hurricane Katrina flooded the organization in August of that year.
In January, 2006 Sharon Blanchard joined the Oreck Corporation as the Distance Learning Coordinator. There she developed and managed the company’s flourishing Distance Learning Program. The new program incorporated a blended learning platform that included the development of sales, technical, and soft skills based courses that were delivered via self-study, web based, and computer based media. The program was so successful that it increased the number of employees trained per year significantly and decreased by 60% the total training cost for the company.
